“16 Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. 17 When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ 18 But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ 19 Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 Another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’
21 “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24 For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’” Luke 14:16-24 NLT
The prophecy has been fulfilled. The curtain has been torn. JESUS IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE. The New Covenant is established.
20 Now may the God of peace—
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
21 may he equip you with all you need
for doing his will.
May he produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.
22 I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, to pay attention to what I have written in this brief exhortation. – Hebrews 13:20-22
There has never been a day of greater promise than the 3rd day. The day that changed everything. The day that life and life’s purpose is clearly understood. The day that love is realized.
There is a beautiful Hymn written long ago (1880), based upon Matthew 11:28 “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” that rings so beautifully on this day of absolute assurance.
The lyrics go:
“Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portals He’s waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me
Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, “O sinner come home”
O for the wonderful love He has promised
Promised for you and for me
Though we have sinned He has mercy and pardon
Pardon for you and for me
Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, “O sinner come home”
Come home, come home (come home)
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, “O sinner come home”
Jesus death was not in vain because Jesus rose from the dead and with His resurrection, every prophecy, every statement, every word that he said were proven true. The eternal life that Jesus death and resurrected life offers is for you and me. It is a gift. It is love. It is unconditional. A true gift that cannot be earned, only accepted. Jesus is asking you right now, in this moment, “come home.” Come into relationship with me. He continued saying in Matthew 11:29-30 NLT “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Thank you, Lord God most High for the 3rd day. For Jesus. For His resurrection from the dead. For life. For joy. For eternity. For eternal love.
