“Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.” Deuteronomy 7:9 NLT
So blessed to be spending time with my family on this much desired but not deserved time away. What a statement of assurance that “…God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations…”.
So I sit here and watch as those desperate for hope, love, value, seek attention and affirmation from those equally broken and seeking. I watch young and old wear too little, ingest too much, laugh too forcibly, trying to deny the undeniable. Trying to acquire what is waiting to be freely given. I watch as so many work to escape for a week what awaits. Father, help them to see you in the few who have found you. Help me to reflect you to those looking at a broken reflection.
What if today you surrendered to the truth that Deuteronomy 7:9? What if you accepted that the Father, God is faithful to a 1000 generations? What if a generation was 70 years and a thousand, 70,000 years? What if your legacy was assurance for the next 70,000 years of the truth, hope and life eternal?
So as I sit here today with my beautiful wife, I consider that 70,000 years is not a measurable amount of time in eternal assurance. I gratefully accept this week with the keen awareness that this is a gift from the Father. I marvel at God’s love. I marvel at his inexhaustible love. I gratefully surrender to his commands. I peacefully release my life to his leading. He is the great guide whose track record of peace, joy, love, hope, assurance, love is unfailing and perfectly undefeated.
Today know without doubt that your value is immeasurable. That God desire you to recognize and accept that you are his and wonderful in his eyes. That is enough.
